    Shortcuts vs. version issue

    in About Blender

The customized shortcuts 'Anatomy-shortcuts.py' contained in the zipped file,

that are meant to be imported from 'Edit>Preferences>Keymap>Import ...' only work on the 2.83 version and above.

The latest version of Blender can be downloaded from 'blender.org'.

I am trying to get the addon 'Anatomy-shortcuts.py to install but I can not find it in the list after I install it. IM using 293.1

That is because this is NOT a addon - its a shortcuts list to import.

    Yes, you got it.

    Extra tip:

I wish that the preferences were so easy to import.

Unfortunately; the userprefs.blend can only be imported by pasting it into the folder were the program has been installed.

    Generally here:

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.93\config

If the folder does not appear, it can be found searching '%Appdata%' in the Windows searchbar and it will appear.

Another option I like to do with blender is from the "portable zip" download - they continue to make available. The trick to make this work is to make a "config" Folder into the unzipped directory. SO far I am able to run many different versions of blender on a high speed external Flash. I have many portable zip installs on the external SSD and they do not end up interfering with each other.

Thank you, this trick may help to facilitate the installation process.

I achieved to use it, and could share a ready-made customized portable version; I can even integrate the shortcuts, rename and change the icon of the portable blender.

I will integrate it into the zipped file that I share, sothat the users will not have to bother changing the userprefs and importing the shortcuts.

Unfortunately, the portable version does not seem to like the whole file to be chosen as the startup file. I guess that it is too heavy..
