    Z-Anatomy for linux?

    in About Blender

    Has support for linux been dropped? I downloaded the "For Mac" blend but it won't load on my Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon machine (Blender 3.01), and reference to linux on the download page has been removed.

    Hi there,

    For Linux and for Mac:

    1) Download Blender

    2) Download 'z-anatomy.7z

    3) Unzip it

    4) Open 'z-anatomy.blend' in Blender

    5) Import 'Anatomy shortcuts' from Preferences>Keymap>Import

    6) Create a folder named 'config' in 'C/.../Blender/3.1/config'

    7) Paste 'userprefs.blend' inside it

    8) Allow the automatic execution of the script on opening

    N.B.: The userprefs are described in the 'Readme.txt' file

    If you can run Blender, then it should work.

    The only difference on Windows is that the file is shipped with a portable version taht is already configured and can be opened without installation (even from a usb key).

    Let me know if it does not work; the 'Readme' file will be improved to explain the installation process on all Mac and Linux.

    Thanks for the help, but it still won't load. The only element missing from the read.me was setting up the config folder. Unfortunately that didn't help. It starts to load and then blender crashes.

    @d8sconz d8sconz

    If you can run Blender with smaller files (I guess that you do), the crash is probably due to the file size/ RAM needed (≥16Gb of RAM seem to be necessary for this file).

    There may be a way to use the same solution as on Windows:

    its 'z-anatomy_lite.blend' -once pasted and opened in the same folder with the portable Blender version- allows to 'Link' one system at a time, or several.

    @zielepl7 understands this part better.

    Would it work on a default Blender ?

    @Melodicpinpon That will probably be the problem. I have 16Gb of ram so that looks like a minimum and if I have anything else running Blender can't cope. Thanks again for your time, I'll try with z-anatomy_lite.blend and get back to you if that works

    I've moved this post to the 'About Blender' section as it's not related to the app.
