I understand how to Attribute, but I'm not sure how the "ShareAlike" part works for a video comprising of elements with incompatible licenses.
For example:
- I make a video using licensed music, stock footage, etc.
- I add images of z-anatomy into the video
Does the ShareAlike force me to license all the stock music etc under the same terms?
This would be impossible. I can't take somebody's music and give it a new CC license. I would only be able to do that if I owned all the rights to every element in my video, but I merely have a license to use them.
Have I misunderstood?
The consequence is that you can not legally merge and share CC-BY-SA content with non-CC content.
Wow, I see. It looks like I'll need to increase my budget by about 35,000% to commission my own music and video production instead of using stock elements 😧
